SPECIFIEKE SKILLS

MiCa

An international fintech and digital assets company is expanding into the European Union and is in the process of applying for a MiCAR license in the Netherlands. To support this strategic move, the company is seeking a Chief Risk Officer (CRO).

The role will initially be set up on a temporary basis to provide expertise and leadership during the license application and early operational phase. However, there is a strong intention and opportunity for this position to transition into a permanent role, making the CRO a key part of the European leadership team as the business grows.

  • Ensure the company’s compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and licensing obligations, including ongoing MiCAR requirements.
  • Support the drafting and implementation of risk-related policies, procedures, and internal control mechanisms.
  • Oversee risk aspects of outsourcing, ICT arrangements, and business continuity planning, in line with DORA and MiCAR expectations.
  • Liaise with regulators, internal audit, and other stakeholders on risk-related matters.
  • Promote a risk-aware culture across all business units and lead risk-related training initiatives as needed.
