Our client is an international B2B services organisation that manages VAT and excise duty refunds on behalf of its customers. As part of its growth ambitions, the organisation is establishing a dedicated customer onboarding and Know Your Business (KYB) capability to support compliant, scalable and efficient customer lifecycle management.

As Interim KYB Manager, you will be engaged for an initial assignment of 6 to 12 months. Your mandate is to establish and operationalise the organisation's KYC onboarding and AML capability, configure and implement the KYC tool, build and lead the KYC Onboarding & AML Team, bring the operating model into effective use and prepare a controlled handover to a permanent manager.

This is a first-line leadership and implementation role. You will drive the broader onboarding programme across processes, technology, governance and operational readiness, while also overseeing fraud prevention and transaction monitoring activities within the wider financial crime risk framework.

The outcome of the assignment is clear: leave behind a fully operational and sustainable onboarding function, with the tool, team, processes, governance and documentation ready for transfer to a permanent manager.

  • Define team structure, roles and responsibilities, objectives, service levels, quality standards and performance metrics.
  • Recruit and onboard team members as required and manage capacity, resource planning and workload allocation.
  • Act as escalation point for complex onboarding cases, higher-risk customers and operational issues.
  • Embed effective ways of working and a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and customer-centricity.
  • Ensure the team has the knowledge and capability to operate independently following handover.

2. KYC tool and onboarding programme implementation

  • Lead the design and implementation of the customer onboarding and customer lifecycle management framework.
  • Ensure onboarding and due diligence activities align with applicable AML/CTF, customer due diligence and financial crime requirements.
  • Oversee customer onboarding, periodic reviews and event-driven reviews.
  • Lead configuration, testing and implementation of the KYC tool and act as its initial business owner.
  • Drive customer-centricity, automation and operational efficiency while maintaining regulatory compliance.

3. Fraud & transaction monitoring oversight
