Officer Compliance Officer Regulatory Compliance

  • Subject matter expertise; Strong understanding of Dutch and European financial rules and regulations, preferably within banking and investment services. Knowledge of derivatives and complex products is an advantage.
  • Mindset; Able to work independently and develop creative, pragmatic solutions. You can translate complex legal and regulatory issues into practical advice.
  • Work experience; At least 6 years of experience working with financial regulation, for example at a law firm, regulator or financial institution.
  • Education; A master's degree in law or a comparable qualification, preferably with a specialisation in financial regulation or a related field.
  • Language; Excellent written and verbal English. Dutch, German, French and/or Spanish language skills are considered an advantage.

This creates an opportunity to contribute to the further development and professionalisation of its Regulatory Affairs function. The organisation offers an international and diverse working environment, with close collaboration across multiple European locations and disciplines.

As a Regulatory Compliance Officer, you will help the organisation navigate the international financial regulatory landscape, working closely with colleagues across different teams and locations. You will support the development of robust processes and practices around regulatory risk management, provide subject matter expertise in relation to new products, assess the impact of new regulations and help enhance policies and procedures. The role requires strong organisational, analytical and communication skills, as well as pragmatic and strategic thinking. This is a full-time position based in Amsterdam. The organisation values in-person collaboration and expects team members to work from the office on a regular basis.


As Regulatory Compliance Officer, you will have the following focus areas and responsibilities:

  • Be a key contributor to strategic initiatives enhancing the Regulatory Affairs function;
  • Provide pragmatic advice to other teams as a financial regulatory subject matter expert;
  • Help manage interactions with regulatory authorities in the Netherlands and abroad;
  • Play a central role in the regulatory horizon scanning endeavors and ensure that stakeholders across the company remain informed of regulatory developments;
  • Maintain a holistic overview of the banks regulatory implementation initiatives to ensure the timely implementation of regulatory change;
  • Prepare and submit applications, submissions and filings to regulatory authorities, for example to request authorizations or exemptions;
  • Interact and collaborate with colleagues across the region on financial regulatory topics;
  • Liaise with external counsel, both in the Netherlands and abroad, to validate solutions and understand regulatory requirements.
